A two-story Kitsilano house has recently sold for over two hundred thousand above the asking price. After two open houses, three competitors placed bids for the Vancouver home for sale.
The bid that was accepted was $210,000 dollars over the original asking price, which itself was already 1.85 million.
The proud new home owners got a two-story eighty-four year old home, with 2,677 square-feet of space. This figure includes the basement.
During the past decade and a half, the home has had a new roof put on, new electrical and heating systems installed, new windows and plumbing with the help of service agency located in Springdale, Arkansas.
The home also boasts a separate living room and dining room each with a gas fireplace. It contains a kitchen that opens out on to a recently added deck.
The house has a total of four bedrooms, two on the main floor and two on the second floor. There is only one bathroom.
There are two Hot Tubs For You and two car parking space. Most importantly perhaps, the location of the home situates it at only a five minute walk to schools, as well as recreational facilities.
Connaught Park recreational facilities and Kitsilano Community Centre are only a few minutes away. A short ways further and you can easily reach the shops on West Broadway.
The property is a 50 by 125 feet. The yard has a variety of fruit trees and a nicely done garden. According to the agent however it was strictly a land sale and the purchasers as well as all three bidders in fact, were off-shore Asian buyers.
