Sunshine Coast: Your Warm and Friendly Neighborhood
The Sunshine Coast is a region that lives up to its name. With up to 2,400 hours of sunshine every year (around 4 to 6 hours daily), bright days outnumber the gloomy days by a wide margin. Sunshine Coast is a region situated in the south mainland coast of British Columbia, northwestern part of Greater Vancouver and the eastern shores of the Strait of Georgia. Also tagged as one of BC’s best kept secrets, Sunshine Coast stretches along 180 kilometers of land from the Gibsons to Lund with several tiny, quaint neighborhoods in between. It is the perfect paradise of friendly people, quirky waterfront stores and a laidback lifestyle. From strolling into the endless miles of windswept shores to sailing the Princess Louisa Inlet, guests find it hard to dismiss this inescapable feeling that they are on secret place that the rest of the world still has to discover.
There are plenty of reasons why Sunshine Coast is a popular community in Canada. Aside from its close proximity to Vancouver for health care, entertainment, jobs, shopping and the international airport, the region’s isolation offers a very distinct quality of life compared to other neighborhoods situated withing similar distance from the city center. The real estate market on Sunshine Coast ranges from detached single family homes to acreages and huge lots, to condo units, to newly developed subdivisions, and many waterfront development areas featuring homes that highlight breath taking views of British Columbia. The average cost for detached homes in the region is about $500,000, $250,000 for apartments and around $370,000 for semi detached residential properties.
